Howl’s Moving Castle

Illustrations for my entry to the Folio Society’s Illustration Competition in 2019, depicting scenes from Howl’s Moving Castle, the fantasy novel by Diana Wynne Jones published in 1986. Executed in scratchboard, my aim was to allow as much room for the imagination of the reader to envision the characters, and avoid as much whimsy as possible, concentrating on the environments and darker elements of the story.
